Mary is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP) and Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) certified by CTCMPAO, licenced in the province of Ontario. Her practice is inspired by life. She weaves together methods used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in a way that flows to serve her client best; Mary strongly believes in empowering them. She is an acupuncturist and herbalist, who provides cupping, moxibustion, and light Tui Na massage which are all skills of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a Reiki Master and yoga teacher she calmly wakes you from your treatment with a guided meditation or breathwork.
Mary’s practice is geared towards clients of all ages, finding the root cause of illness and using different techniques to focus on restoring wellness and preventing illness. Her educational background began by studying Acupuncture in Vancouver, BC. She then travelled to Taiwan, Japan, and China for energy exchanges to continue her learning.
Traveling to Asia has deepened Mary’s understanding of the principles of TCM. Mary worked on a herb farm in Beitou, Taiwan, where she learned permaculture and was hands on with Chinese herbs. Mary then went to a remote town in Miyama, Japan, building houses and volunteering in an Acupuncture clinic. She observed their methods of practice and learned about their culture. In Shanghai, China, she taught Reiki to a Doctor of TCM in exchange to witness their practice and learn more about culture. Once she returned to Canada, she moved to Mississauga, Ontario to be closer to her family and complete her formal education in TCM.
Mary also has a Nursing background (RPN, Non-practicing class) but has completely transitioned to her practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Most of her life has been fine-tuning her skills and integrating them together seamlessly. She grew up on ski hills volunteering with her dad on the Canadian Ski Patrol and practicing first aid since the age of 13. She continues to teach public classes of CPR and First Aid for the Canadian Red Cross and is a member of Acupuncturists Without Borders. She has a strong belief in community, knowing the value of what a balanced person brings to their family, friends, and workplace. Bringing our best selves is what helps us evolve as people and as a society.
