Comprehensive Lab Testing & Health Assessments –
Looking Beyond Your Symptoms to Understand the Whole Picture

At The Root Natural Health Clinic, we believe the best healthcare starts with understanding why symptoms are occurring—not simply treating them.

Our Naturopathic Doctors use comprehensive laboratory testing and health assessments to better understand how your body’s systems work together. Rather than looking at individual test results in isolation, we consider the connections between hormones, metabolism, digestive health, nutrient status, inflammation, cardiovascular health, and lifestyle to uncover opportunities for both treatment and prevention.

We also interpret many laboratory markers through an evidence-informed, preventative lens, helping identify areas that may be optimized before they contribute to future health concerns.

Laboratory Testing

When clinically appropriate, your practitioner may recommend laboratory testing to help investigate symptoms, establish a baseline, monitor treatment progress, or support preventative healthcare.

Testing may include:

  • Comprehensive blood work (including thyroid function, cholesterol, blood sugar, insulin, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D, inflammatory markers, kidney and liver function, hormones, and more)
  • Hormone testing
  • Food sensitivity testing
  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis
  • SIBO (Lactulose Breath Test)

Laboratory testing is requisitioned through Life Labs or specialized take-home testing providers, depending on your individual needs.

In-Clinic Health Assessments

We also offer a variety of in-clinic assessments to provide additional insight into your health, including:

  • Body Composition Analysis (muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat, resting metabolic rate, and more)
  • Women’s Health Exams and testing, including breast exams, pelvic exams, Pap testing, and vaginal swabs (available with Dr. Annaleeza Caputi, ND)
  • Urinalysis
  • Blood pressure assessment

Personalized, Evidence-Informed Care

Every test we recommend has a purpose. We only recommend investigations that are clinically appropriate and relevant to your symptoms, health history, and goals.

By combining comprehensive testing with personalized care, we can better understand the root causes of your health concerns, identify opportunities to optimize your wellbeing, and develop a treatment plan that supports your long-term health.

Please note that laboratory testing ordered by Naturopathic Doctors is not covered by OHIP. Some testing and consultation fees may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefit plans.
